Dock Seals & Shelters

Dock seals and shelters close the gap between a trailer and your building during loading. They help keep out rain, snow and wind, hold in heated or cooled air, and make the dock safer and more comfortable for your crew.

Active Vehicle Restraints

Vehicle Restraints can help prevent accidents by securing a trailer to the dock and providing better communication between the truck driver and dock attendant.

Loading Dock Bumpers

Dock bumpers absorb the impact when a trailer backs into the dock. They help protect your building, your dock leveler and the trailers themselves from damage, so your loading dock lasts longer.

Loading Dock Equipment FAQs

What is the difference between a mechanical and a hydraulic dock leveler?

The main difference is how the leveler is raised and lowered. A mechanical leveler uses springs and is operated by hand with a pull chain or release. A hydraulic leveler uses a hydraulic system and works at the push of a button. Hydraulic levelers take less effort and suit busy docks, while mechanical levelers have a simpler design.

Should I choose dock seals or dock shelters?

Choose dock seals when your trailers are mostly the same size, and dock shelters when trailer sizes vary. Seals are foam pads that press against the back of the trailer for a tight fit. Shelters use a frame and curtains that wrap around the trailer without touching it. Both help keep weather, heat loss and pests out of the dock.

Why are vehicle restraints important at a loading dock?

Vehicle restraints help prevent accidents by holding the trailer against the dock while it is being loaded. They reduce the risk of a trailer pulling away early or creeping forward while a forklift is inside. Many systems also use lights so the driver and dock attendant can see when it is safe to move. That clear signal is a big part of dock safety.

How can I keep my dock equipment from breaking down?

Regular inspection and maintenance is the best way to prevent dock equipment breakdowns. Loading docks take hard daily use, and small problems like worn bumpers, damaged lips or slow hydraulics get worse over time. Our Preventative Maintenance Program has free enrollment, priority scheduling and a detailed checklist and report for each piece of equipment.

Should I repair or replace a damaged dock leveler?

Repair is often the right choice when the frame and deck are still sound and the problem is a worn part. Replacement makes more sense when the structure is cracked, bent or keeps failing. A technician can inspect the leveler and give you both options. We offer 24-hour emergency repair for commercial and industrial businesses when a dock goes down.
